Land of Smiles Assembly

The Millstadt Primary Center is happy to have recently hosted an in-person Land of Smiles program
performance from Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation. This fun and interactive program produced by The
National Theatre for Children has returned to in-person this fall, and educates children on the
importance of teeth and how to take care of them.
In the production, Captain Super Grin — the champion of dental hygiene — along with his nemesis Caz
Cavity and sidekicks Terri Tooth Fairy and Toothpick, lead the way in instilling good oral health habits in
children at a young age. Tooth decay is a common, chronic disease for children, but it is largely
preventable. This program educates students in a way that is easy to understand and apply to their lives.

Every child who attends a Land of Smiles performance receives a kit with a free toothbrush, toothpaste
and floss, along with oral health tips in English and Spanish explaining how to take care of their teeth.
This fall, the Land of Smiles program will reach 16,141 pre-kindergarten through third-grade students in
84 Illinois elementary schools in-person and virtually. In the past 12 years, the program has reached
about 487,722 students at 937 Illinois schools.
