Character Ed Theme –  Honesty

Attention All Students….

·         Last Friday our school hosted the Cahokia Conference Algebra Bee. Our conference schools brought three of their top math students to compete in the contest. Jerry Aplin, Shanan Riley and Evan Arnold represented our school. Together they captured 2nd Place! Individually, Jerry tied for 1st place but was awarded a 2nd place silver medal due to a tie breaker. Congratulations!! All of our competitors did a great job and made MCS proud!

·         Attention Jazz Band Members… Practice today at lunch today! 

·         Attention Vocal Motion Altos & Baritones….  We will rehearse at lunch today!

·         Attention Students… 2019 MCS Academic Banquet is tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the MCS Multi-Purpose room.  We will honor the following teams; Challenge, Chess Team, Math Team, Scholar Bowl Team and Science Olympiad Team.  Please bring a dessert to share, and a serving utensil:  cups, drinks, forks, napkins and plates will be provided.   Please let your coach know if you are unable to attend today!!

 

·         Attention Students… The Flag Clinic will be this Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. in the gym.  You must attend both days of the clinic and tryouts will be this Friday! 

·         Attention 6th/7th/8th Grade Students…. There will be no Math Matters Tutoring this week!

·         Attention Students… 2019 MCS Athletic Awards Night is this Wednesday, May 1st at 6:00 p.m. 

We will honor the following teams:   

6:00 p.m. – 7th & 8th Grade Volleyball in the Gym, Wrestling in the Band Room

6:30 p.m. – Soccer in the Gym, Softball in the Band Room

7:00 p.m. – 7th & 8th Grade Girls Basketball in Mrs. Kienitz’s Room, 8th Boys Basketball and Cheerleading in the Gym.

·         Attention 8th Grade Students… Tryouts for the Belleville West Champion Flag Line!  We will host 5 Audition Clinic days to learn technique in both dance and flag!  Audition Clinic Days start today through this Friday, May 3rd from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. in room A113 at Belleville West.  Final Tryouts will be this Saturday, May 4th from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in room A113 at Belleville West.  For more information, there are flyers in the principal’s office.   

·         Attention 6th/7th/8th Grade Students… The Final Fiesta Dance will be on Friday, May 10th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. for the 6th and 7th grade students and from 7:00 – 10 p.m. for the 8th grade students.  The cost is $5.00 and you will have to have a signed permission to slip to attend.  There will also be a Photo Booth!! 

 

·         Attention All Students…. The Spring Carnival will be held on Friday, May 17th, from 1:30 – 5:00 p.m. in the park area behind MCS.  Deadline for armband presale orders is Wednesday, May 15th by 3:00 p.m. in the Principal’s office or the Assistant Principal’s office.  Presale armbands cost $12.  If paying by check, please make it payable to MCCS PTA.  Armbands will be distributed on May 17th at the Carnival.  Please go to the Main Check in Table/Booth.  For question, please contact Denise Campo @ denise_campo@yahoo.com

***All Students in Pre-K through 8th Grade need to have a signed permission slip in order to attend the carnival.  Please return the permission slips to school NO later than Thursday, May 16th
