SCHOOL DANCE: ALOHA! Your Student Council would like to announce the first dance of the year! 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, you are invited to a Hawaiian Dance Party! next Friday, October 24th. The Hawaiian Dance permission slips are due back next Thursday, 10/23. Student Council will be selling leis during lunch Monday through Thursday next week for just $1 while supplies last! Faculty and staff - please consider being a chaperone to help our students enjoy their evening!

A big shout out to the girls cross country team: Aubrey Mitchell, Morgan Witt, Vivienne Rehling, Veda Casey, Sydney Johnson, Sadie Coppernoll and Paige Scharringhausen and to the individual boys: Conner Branum, Alex Hogg, and Cole Agne who will be competing at the state cross country meet tomorrow in DuQuoin. Cross Country Runners: please turn in your washed uniforms to Mr. Keeley
There will be a Scholar Bowl information meeting on Tuesday October 21 at 12:30 in Mrs. Obermeier's room. If you plan on attending this meeting, you must sign up on the sheet outside her door. This is a short 10 minute minute about what being on the Scholar Bowl team requires. Thanks
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Family Reading Night a success! It was a wonderful evening for our school community, and it could not have happened without the support of our faculty, staff, and students who volunteered their time and energy.
A special shout-out to Mrs. Weiler, Mr. Emge, The Stacy Cooper Foundation, and MCS PTA for their generous donations, and to MCS Beta Club, MCS Student Council, and our amazing custodians for their hard work behind the scenes. And a special thank you to those who worked throughout the night, including our Pajama Room readers who brought stories to life: Molly White, Gina Sangiolo, Ulrica Bateman, Anne Buss, Eileen Harszy, Susan Ayers, Tina Tarr, Jess Veath, Dawn Jones, Elaine Weiler, Ed Emge, Shannon Weaver, Kelly Snyder, Lauren Watkins, Kelli Marlin, Heather Hauss, Jen Wegener, Jen Weyant, Rebecca Godard, Sharon Wicklein, Rhonda Donelson, and Amy Jany.
I was remiss in not thanking our hosts! *Thank you to Meghan Gable and Becky Rasmussen for hosting The Poetry Cafe and to John Heeg for hosting The Storytelling Room - such a great turnout in both rooms!
