Beta Club Meeting - Next meeting: Wednesday 4/1/26 meeting in Mrs. Rasmussen’s Room 207 at 7:45 am. Future Meeting dates: 5/6
I mentioned this before, but we didn’t quite meet our goals for the Beta Club Cereal Drive this year and the food pantry really needs our help. A 2nd drive will be going on the week of March 9-13. Beta Club will be sending flyers home and doing a fresh competition for week 2 of the cereal food drive. The winners of this one will get a Pizza party!
Save the Date! Read Aloud Day is coming up on Wednesday, April 1st! We can’t wait to share great books, welcome special readers, and enjoy lots of reading fun together. It’s a day to slow down, listen, imagine, and celebrate the joy of reading as a school community!
KIDS BOWL FREE! Just wanted to pass this along to all families. This is a great Program for kids in the summer. I know Bel Air Bowl in Belleville, West Park Bowl in Columbia and St. Clair Bowl in Fairview all participate. April 25th MCS will be participating in a Fundraiser giving hope to kids with cancer. More information in the March newsletter!
Track practice starts after school on Monday 3/9 for all 6-8th graders. You will meet in the multi purpose room and walk over to the track together.
Science Olympiad will take their yearbook picture Monday during study hall. Please bring your shirt and any medals for the picture.
Band news: Congratulations to all band students who attended the Solo & Ensemble Contest on Saturday. Everyone did a great job and the judges had nothing but good things to say. Some of the compliments were: 1. how nice everyone was dressed for their performances 2. how polite and kind the students and the parents were 3. How much they enjoyed listening to their performances and 4. How impressed they were when the students introduced themselves and their pieces. Way to represent MCS. I couldn’t be more proud.
Here are the results:
Solo’s: 20 - 1st Superiors, 68 - 1st places, 4 - 2nds, & 2 - 3rd’s
Ensembles: 65 - 1st Superiors, 25 - 1st places
Jazz Band, you did an amazing job on your performance and the solos were outstanding. Fantastic job and congratulations on your 1st Superior. Also, a big shout out to Mrs. Ayer & Mrs. Rosenzweig for letting us use your rooms on Saturday and to Mrs. Nolte for setting up the schedule. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Another big shout out goes to all the helpers & volunteers. You did an amazing job and were a big help. Thank you very much.

Congratulations to our 8th grade volleyball team who won their Friday Game against Smithton! 6th and 7th Grade will be finishing up their season this week and 8th graders start their regional games on Thursday. Let’s finish the season strong and good luck!
