STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Band News:  

Sr Band  will be performing at the homecoming parade on Saturday, September 5th.  So please be sure to line up on the parade route and give them and all the parade participants a big cheer when they go by!  The parade is one of Millstadt’s long-standing traditions and one of the best highlights of the year.  And don’t forget your candy bag LOL! 

Sports News:

Yearbook Staff and School Play participants, if you have not already paid your activity fees, please get those turned in as soon as possible.

Our first Ice cream day of the school year is on September 4th.  Be sure to turn in your forms along with $5.00 and select your flavor between vanilla, chocolate, or twist.  All benefits support our athletic department.  Forms are due on September 3rd.

Beta Club has their first meeting coming up on Wednesday, September 2nd.  Start time is at 7:45

Other News: 

Today our featured past student is a 2017 graduate Taylor Demick. After MCS, she attended Belleville West and then went to SIU Carbondale.  Right now she lives in Kansas City.  Taylor is currently an electrical engineer.  One of her favorite memories was going on the 8th grade trip to New York City and Washington DC with her friends.  One important lesson she learned here at MCS is to stay on top of your assignments!  Just like school, a job has very strict deadlines, and it is important that you follow and achieve those deadlines to avoid any unnecessary consequences and schedule delays.  So she is kind of saying, being here at school is like on the job training for the future!  Her piece of advice for you would be to never be afraid to ask questions when you don’t know something.  Asking questions will help make you a stronger and knowledgeable person!  Sounds like great advice from Taylor.  You can find out more about Taylor on our school Facebook page! September 2nd is Hat day.  Please feel free to wear a hat for a $1.00 donation to help support the school play!

An important announcement for everyone.  Due to safety issues, please be aware that baseball bats are not allowed during recesses.  If you are on a school team they must stay in your gear bag until after school. If you are not on a school baseball or softball team, all bats should be left at home.  We appreciate your cooperation.  Speaking of cooperation I know it is a bigger word but it is really an important one.  Cooperation is the act of working or acting together with other people to reach a shared goal or common benefit.  So thanks again to everyone for making sure we have a safe environment on the playground.

BLOOD DRIVE:  There will be a blood drive on Wednesday September 16th at St James Catholic Parish & School from 3:00pm to 8:00pm in honor of one of our students Regan Timm.  Please schedule your appointment today and call 1-800-Red-Cross or email at RedCrossBlood.org.
