STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

                                    Monday - September 28, 2026

Sports News:

• 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls basketball tryouts will be October 5th (3:30-5:30, October 6th (3:30-5:30), and September 7th (2:30-4:30).  Students must have an updated physical within 13 months on file in the nurses office.  

•  Boys 7th and 8th grade basketball tryouts will be October 12-14, All participants must have an updated physical within the last 13 months. Oct 12, tryouts will be 10-noon, on the 13th 3:30-5:30, and finally on the 14th from 4:30-6:30.  Grade checks will also be done. .  

• Friday the Cross Country teams had their conference meet in Red Bud. Both the boys and girls teams placed 3rd in conference. We also had some individuals run lights out Friday and finished top 10 in conference. Congratulations to Cole Agne who placed 8th and Frank McGhee who placed 4th for the boys. On the girls side, Lulu Fanous placed 6th, Veda Casey 4th, and Vivienne Rehling 3rd in Conference.  We also had some standouts in the Open Race. Ruby Pettijohn and Junie Dorhman placed in top 10 for girls and Jay’Vion Steinmetz, Zane Stern and Joseph Glauber placed in top 10 for boys, with Joseph Glauber winning the race overall!  It was a great day to be a Panther! 

• All of you Wrestlers or wanna be wrestlers.  Sign ups are now posted in the gym so if you are interested, please be sure to get your name on the list.

Other News: 

• We will need to patiently await for the Sock It To Cancer fundraiser.  That is a good thing as there are a lot of coins to count.  Whenever the results are ready, I will be sure to make the announcements

• Picture day is scheduled for Sept 30th at both MPC and MCS

• Jennifer Mennerick, the Girls Tennis Coach at BWTH emailed and are offering a FREE middle school tennis clinic. The clinic will be at Belleville West on Sunday, October 4 from 6 - 7 pm.  Here is the link to sign up  https://forms.gle/V4GRKXev6ooyGi3r6
