STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sports News:

  • 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls basketball tryouts are Monday, October 5th (3:30-5:30, October 6th (3:30-5:30), and September 7th (2:30-4:30).  Students must have an updated physical within 13 months on file in the nurses office.  

  •  Boys 7th and 8th grade basketball tryouts will be October 12-14, All participants must have an updated physical within the last 13 months. Oct 12, tryouts will be 10-noon, on the 13th 3:30-5:30, and finally on the 14th from 4:30-6:30.  Grade checks will also be done. 

  • 6th Grade Boys interested in Basketball, please see information in the gym hallway. 

  • Boys baseball won their state tournament quarterfinals this past weekend.  Owen Milton pitched a terrific game!  Way to go team.  Their next tournament game is tomorrow.  Join the cheerleaders tomorrow in wearing maroon and white for our baseball team progressing to semi-finals tomorrow! Spirit sticks for the most well-dressed participants!  Cheerleaders meet in Coach Sangiolo’s room for practice.

Extracurricular News:

  • Next Den meeting will be on October 6th 8:10am sharp!

  • Fall Fun Festival Winners from 4th grade raffle are:  Aiden Hulsey  who won the Dumpling squishy, Anna Killebrew:  won the Cheese squishy, Ava Rothenberg won the  Butter Squishy, and Olivia Baltz won the  Apple squishy.  Please go to Mrs. Scheibel's room to collect

  • Thank you so much to everyone at MPC for participating in Kellsie’s Hope Foundation’s 15th anniversary of “Sock it to Cancer!” Student Council is excited to share that MPC collected $4,145.29 and MCS collected $6,065.84!  BOTH SCHOOLS’ final count was $10,211.13!! We BROKE OUR RECORD from last year by $202.25!! The class with the top donation and winner of their choice of pizza or donut party for MPC is:  Mrs. Kinders class collecting $822.09!!  The top 3 decorated socks are:  Scottie Brassie, Faye Dunivan, Charlie (popcorn sock) from 2nd Grade- Ms. Barnett.  For MCS The class with the tope donation was MRs. Thomas’ class collecting $952.28.  For the sock decorating contest there was a tie and the top 4 were Emmy Nordike, Libby Froese, Amelia Jackson, and Avery Gettinger.  Prized can be collected in Mrs. Sangiolo’s room for our MCS winners and MPC can collect your prize from the MPC front office.  Congratulations to all winners, and thank you again for supporting the Student Council and Kellsie’s Hope “Sock it to Cancer” fundraiser. We truly appreciate your support!

  • There will be a Scholar Bowl meeting on Friday, October 16th at 12:30 p.m. in Mrs. Obermeier’s room.  You MUST attend this meeting if you would like to be considered for a spot on the team. If you know you will not be at school that day and cannot attend, please let Mrs. Obermeier know in advance.
