STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sports News:

-Big congratulations to both the Boys and Girls Middle School Cross Country teams on punching their tickets to the State Championship! The boys team includes Frank McGhee who placed 5th, Cole Agne who placed 9th, Braxton Szarek, Lou Sangiolo, Joseph Glauber, Barrett Froese, and Keegan Hauck. The girls team includes Vivienne Rehling who placed 4th, Veda Casey who placed 7th, Lulu Fanous, Talla Fanous, Morgan Witt, Sam Muskopf, and Cate Branum.  Now it’s time to represent. Run hard, stay focused, and enjoy every single moment on the State course. Let’s go!

-7th, and 8th grade boys basketball tryouts are October 12-14, All participants must have an updated physical within the last 13 months. Oct 12, tryouts will be 10-noon, on the 13th 3:30-5:30, and finally on the 14th from 4:30-6:30.  Grade checks will also be done.  There is an open Gym for the tryouts on 10/7 6pm-7pm, 10/8 7pm-8pm, and on 10/9 9am-10am.)

-6th Grade Boys interested in Basketball, please see information in the gym hallway.

-All Band students,  Tj's pizza forms are due Thursday.

Extracurricular News:

-There will be a Scholar Bowl meeting on Friday, October 16th at 12:30 p.m. in Mrs. Obermeier’s room.  You MUST attend this meeting if you would like to be considered for a spot on the team. If you know you will not be at school that day and cannot attend, please let Mrs. Obermeier know in advance

Other News: 

-If you want to get an ice cream after lunch on October 16th, be sure to get your order forms, along with your money turned in by October 14th!  

-Attention 8th graders: The Yearbook Cover Contest deadline has been extended! Entries are now due by the end of the day on Tuesday, October 13th. If you haven’t started one yet, there’s still time to create a cover and enter the contest! See Mrs. Fischer for more details. 

-First priority is collecting donations to give gifts to kids in need throughout the world who would otherwise have no gifts on Christmas. 3rd and 4th graders' homerooms are collecting school supplies. 5th and 6th graders are collecting toys/games and fun items (Wow gifts).  7th and 8th graders are collecting personal care items. We have chosen to pack for the 5-9 year old age group, boys and girls. Please no liquids/aerosol cans. The class that brings the most items will win a donut party!  Collection will take place next week Tuesday - Friday (10/13 - 10/16).
