 STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

                                        Friday - October 16, 2026

Sports News:

Congratulations to our Cross Country team who will be going to the state meet in Du Quoin on Saturday, October 17th.   Also their breakfast has been moved to Friday, October 23rd and will be in Mr. Keeley’s classroom.

Extracurricular News:

-There will be a Scholar Bowl meeting on Friday, October 16th at 12:30 p.m. in Mrs. Obermeier’s room.  You MUST attend this meeting if you would like to be considered for a spot on the team. If you know you will not be at school that day and cannot attend, please let Mrs. Obermeier know in advance

Other News:

-First priority is collecting donations to give gifts to kids in need throughout the world who would otherwise have no gifts on Christmas. 3rd and 4th graders' homerooms are collecting school supplies. 5th and 6th graders are collecting toys/games and fun items (Wow gifts).  7th and 8th graders are collecting personal care items. We have chosen to pack for the 5-9 year old age group, boys and girls. Please no liquids/aerosol cans. The class that brings the most items will win a donut party!  Collection will take place next week Tuesday - Friday (10/13 - 10/16).

Click Here to view the spreadsheet they created to help with what items should or should not be donated.  Any grade is welcome to bring Wow gifts/toys because the kids love them.

-We have some mad science news….  We are 1 person away from having two Mad Science classes.  If we don't get the 1, the 9 kids on the wait list do not get to participate.  If we have any students still interested in participating in Mad Science, please reach out to Mrs. Rasmussen or come to the office to get another flyer with the registration information.  Let’s see if we can get one more student interested in having some fun and wanting to participate so we don’t have to leave anyone out.  Those of you that have already signed up, maybe check in with your friends to see if you want to do it together!  The more the merrier!   Keep in mind this is for students in Grades K-6th.
